So last night I installed ImageHost Grabber, friend recommended it to me seeing as I usually download many photos but all by hand and it's tiresome and hurts the wrist over time.

Anyhow! I love it, it's amazing, it worked for a good hour last night, got alot done, incredible program, but then suddenly, it stopped.  Cry

I right clicked the page, selected "Imagehost Grabber/Get all pics on page" and then the "ImageHost Grabber Download Progress" screen popped up. It says "Running..." At the bottom left of the screen but does nothing.

I've right clicked, selected "Host File Editor" and hit "Update from online host file" Tried again, still nothing, saw in another thread about having the latest version and latest Host file, checked it and it is. http://imagehost-grabber.com/hostf.xml

Then I right clicked again and "Restore Cache Session" Tried that, still does the "Running..." But nothing more.

I have uninstalled the program from Mozilla Add ons, then re installed it hoping that would fix the problem, still not working. I am not sure what else I can try to do to get it to run again and actually run.

I am sure I am missing something but honestly I am out of ideas, hoping somebody here has had this problem and knows how to fix it, if not, I loved the program for the bit I used it.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this and I thank you immensely if you know what I can do to fix this issue.

Below is a photo of what I am talking about.

Thank you

Jon,

I get this a lot with new users of the program.  Typically the problem is that there is an unsupported host that they are trying to use the program on.

ImageHost Grabber works by going through the extensive list of definitions for the known hosts.  Unfortunately, I can not make it general enough to work on every gallery out there.  If there is a new host that comes about, I have to add the definition for that host.

What could help me is if you provide me with a link to a gallery that you are trying to use this on.  Then I can tell you whether or not you are experiencing the dilemma that I just mentioned.

Thanks,
Matt

Hello all!

I am currently having this same issue. In fact, I can't get IHG to work on anything! I've tried multiple forums with large amounts of images posted, both the "suck this thread" option and the "Get all pics on this page".

My end result is very similar to the image already posted here, however on 2 maybe 3 occasions I have had one image successfully download. That's it.

I'm running the latest version as well as the newest host file, I've attempted to uninstall/reinstall and tried on multiple computers with no luck.

I would appreciate any help and I hope I can get this wonderful program working soon!

Regards,
Rich

Could you post a link to one of the galleries you're trying to download?

I must concur with the previous 2 posters. I just downloaded the current version of IHG today and updated the host file.

First time I tried "Get all pics" I got the progress window with the Status "Running...." which lasted about 10 min with no change before I closed it out. I then tried the "suck" function, but didn't even get the progress window. No matter what I tried, I could not get the progress window back. I disabled & re-enabled, but nothing. I finally re-installed and tried "Get all pics" and was able to see the progress window again, but only saw the "Running...." status.

Unfortunately I haven't been successful in downloading any images so far.   Sad

Firefox version: 3.5.5
IHG version: 1.6.3
Gallery: Dumpixxx.com (which according to the list is supported)

I'm in the same boat.  I've not yet been successful with what people tell me is a great tool.  Kind of bummed because I suspect it's me that's the dolt and not an actual problem with IHG.  Hopefully it's a straight-forward kick in my pants to straighten this out.

Firefox version:  3.5.8
forum:               www.pornbb.org
example link:      http://imagearn.com//image.php?id=3005589

imagearn is on the list of hosts that IHG works on so I'm confused by the lack of activity when I try to use it.  If there is any other information you need to try and help isolate my issue, I'll be glad to let you know.

Apologies to the OP for the hijack but hopefully the answer to each of our problems will help the others.

Have you tried the basic approach as,

1. Backup whatever you need from rss channels/history/bookmarks/extension settings (such as greasemonkey scripts) from Firefox, I will not take any responsibility for lost data written above.
2. Uninstall Firefox.
3. For XP users, goto "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\your-profile-name.default" (Q:how? A: paste ""%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\" to RUN command) and get a copy of this folder to somewhere else, afterwards delete folder "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox"
4. Reinstall latest firefox - currently 3.6.2
5. Install IHG addon only.
6. Try IHG with a validated host.
7. Inform us about the result.

Note: XP pathnames may differ, referring to your localization, this is why I have used %APPDATA% instead of "C:\Documents and Settings\your-user-name\Application Data"

Cheers.

Well here is an update to my own personal dilemma...

So just for shiggles, I tried running IHG on a couple of other sites... and to my surprise, it worked flawlessly.
Thinking I possibly did something to tweak it and make it work, I went back to the original gallery I wanted to download, but no dice.

Obviously dumpixxx must have changed something up and now this utility no longer works there. Bummer!  Sad

I made a little change to the dumpixxx rule. Update your host file and try again. If it doesn't work post a link to the gallery you want to download.
